About Tyda
Tyda is an eco-tourism project launched jointly by AP Tourism and the State Forests Department. The prime highlight of this eco-tourism project is a beautiful forest resort called Jungle Bells situated at a height of 2000 feet above the sea-level on the Visakhapatnam - Araku Ghat Road. The 25 km stretch of ghat road when you travel from vizag, punctuated by lush green fields, farms and plantations, is a real treat to the eyes. The train ride to the resort is even more enthralling and captivating as the train passes through narrow railway on the hillock and dense forest, crossing about ten tunnels.
Jungle Bells is an eco-friendly resort spread over five acres with about 18 well furnished cottages established by the AP tourism department. It is a home to variety of wild animals and various species of birds apart from being a hillock with rich flora and fauna.
There is a nature camp held by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department authorities that offers facilities for trekking, hiking and bird watching. In this camp, you can have a refreshing 4 kms trek through the dense forest early in the morning, touching few of the tribal hamlets on the way. You can also go on a bicycle ride or give tribal archery a shot. Cell phones other than BSNL do not have connectivity here and no provision of landline. There is a multi-cuisine restaurant run by the APTDC but don t expect a lavish food. All-in-all, it makes a beautiful place to spend your holiday.
